How New Revenue Opportunities Are Changing Development
In the past, the business model for games was straightforward: sell enough copies to recoup your development costs, hopefully more to make some profit. With the advent of streaming services, subscription services, featured giveaways and more, developers have more options for generating revenue. How have these new options affected the decisions we make during development? Which models have worked out well for developers and which ones haven't been so good? In this roundtable we'll discuss these new forms of revenue, what their impact has been, and what we should be pushing for as sustainable models going forward.
